About Our Studio
Joyful Motion Pilates was opened by Owner Crishna Grelle in 2009. Our studio has brought the joy of fitness and mindfulness through Pilates to the greater Seattle area for ten years.
We offer online classes as well as on-on-one in-person sessions in two locations. One in the Madrona Neighborhood of Seattle and one located in Burien, Washington in the Pain Science Physical Therapy office. We partner with Pain Science Physical Therapy in order to provide their patients with the benefits of rehabilitation through Pilates. However, we are open for all people, not just those who visit Pain Science Physical Therapy.
Providing our clients personalized instruction and seeing them surpass their goals is our greatest priority.
About Crishna Grelle
Owner and Operator, Crishna Grelle has always loved exercise. Crishna grew up playing soccer, dancing, cross-country skiing, and running. She knew from a young age that taking care of one’s body should always be a priority.
She first pursued a career in massage therapy. It was after watching the transformational effect of Pilates on some of her clients that Crishna did some investigating of her own. Soon after, she discovered her love for the exercise. Crishna is now a STOTT™ Certified Pilates Instructor and received her training through Bodycenter Studios in Seattle. She has been teaching Pilates in the Seattle area for the past 10 years. Her passion for Pilates is evident in the joyfulness and energy she brings to every session.
Crishna knows that each person has their own body and their own story. She makes sure that each lesson is catered to the needs and abilities of her clients, whether they want one-on-one session Pilates or a small group for team Pilates.
When Crishna isn’t teaching, she is spending time with her friends and family, reading, hiking with her dog, and Tango dancing.
About Pilates
Pilates is a low-impact exercise regimen that focuses on building core muscles, increasing flexibility, and correcting posture.
Pilates is fun and easy to modify to accommodate participants’ needs. Whether you are an athlete wanting to improve your performance or just someone who wants to get into better shape, Pilates is a great method to reach any goal throughout all stages of life.
Pilates can be done with or without equipment. There are many different types of Pilates exercises. At Joyful Motion Pilates, we practice the STOTT™ method and therefore, most of our exercise routine utilizes specialized equipment.
Pilates was invented by Joseph Pilates. He created an amazing system of mindful exercises to meet many body challenges and injuries. With the right instructor, Pilates can meet you wherever you are in your health quest.
Now I am able to do things that I wouldn’t have been able to do before, without injuring myself. I recommend Pilates to everyone.
